Ils se manifestent sous diff\u00e9rentes formes dont des difficult\u00e9s avec la lecture, l&#8217;\u00e9criture et la m\u00e9morisation. Ils ont des effets d\u00e9vastateurs sur la r\u00e9ussite scolaire, l&#8217;apprentissage et affectent l&#8217;\u00e9panouissement social et personnel. Le terme \u00ab trouble d&#8217;apprentissage \u00bb est une appellation m\u00e9dicale avec des crit\u00e8res diagnostiques pr\u00e9cis. Ceux que l&#8217;on rencontre le plus fr\u00e9quemment sont le trouble sp\u00e9cifique de la lecture (dyslexie), le trouble sp\u00e9cifique de l&#8217;orthographe (dysorthographie), le trouble sp\u00e9cifique de l&#8217;\u00e9criture (dysgraphie), le trouble sp\u00e9cifique du langage (dysphasie), le trouble sp\u00e9cifique des apprentissages en math\u00e9matiques (dyscalculie), le trouble sp\u00e9cifique de la m\u00e9moire, le trouble sp\u00e9cifique de la coordination motrice (dyspraxie) et le trouble du d\u00e9ficit de l&#8217;attention avec ou sans hyperactivit\u00e9 (TDA\/H). La dyslexie et la dysorthographie, ces troubles d&#8217;apprentissage permanents et d&#8217;origine neurologique peuvent avoir des cons\u00e9quences graves sur l&#8217;ensemble des apprentissages et sur le d\u00e9veloppement de la confiance en soi et la motivation. La conf\u00e9rence pr\u00e9sentera les diff\u00e9rentes caract\u00e9ristiques de ces troubles ainsi que leurs manifestations au quotidien. Nous traiterons \u00e9galement des troubles qui y sont souvent associ\u00e9s ainsi que de l&#8217;identification et de l&#8217;intervention pr\u00e9coce de la dyslexie et dysorthographie. Cette grande sensibilisation et le raffinement de nos connaissances m\u00e9dicales et scientifiques \u00e0 ce sujet font en sorte que de plus en plus d&#8217;enfants et d&#8217;adultes obtiennent un diagnostic clair et pr\u00e9cis. Cependant, ceci fait aussi en sorte qu&#8217;il existe un besoin criant pour un traitement efficace. Malgr\u00e9 les effets b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques connus de plusieurs r\u00e9gimes pharmaceutiques, il y a un engouement grandissant pour des traitements alternatifs qui, pour la plupart, ne sont pas r\u00e9glement\u00e9s et dont l&#8217;efficacit\u00e9 n&#8217;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 v\u00e9rifi\u00e9e ou confirm\u00e9e par la communaut\u00e9 scientifique. Il devient alors souvent tr\u00e8s difficile pour les parents, intervenants et enseignants de s&#8217;y retrouver. Les cons\u00e9quences de cette d\u00e9valorisation se r\u00e9percutent directement sur le d\u00e9veloppement de l&#8217;estime de soi, la motivation ainsi que sur le sentiment d&#8217;appartenance \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9cole. Le trouble d&#8217;apprentissage peut alors devenir la cause d&#8217;une perte de motivation qui, en retour, viendra exacerber les difficult\u00e9s sociales et acad\u00e9miques v\u00e9cues par l&#8217;\u00e9tudiant. Mais il est tout \u00e0 fait possible de pr\u00e9venir les cons\u00e9quences psychoaffectives des troubles d&#8217;apprentissage ainsi que le taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de d\u00e9crochage scolaire chez ces jeunes. Pour l&#8217;enfant qui vit avec un trouble d&#8217;apprentissage, les difficult\u00e9s scolaires deviendront une importante source d&#8217;angoisse. La peur de l&#8217;\u00e9chec, d&#8217;\u00eatre ridiculis\u00e9 et surtout de d\u00e9cevoir peuvent facilement prendre le dessus. C&#8217;est alors que tout devient source d&#8217;inqui\u00e9tude et que le trouble d&#8217;apprentissage peut donner lieu \u00e0 un \u00e9tat chronique d&#8217;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9. Il est souvent difficile pour les parents de savoir si les inqui\u00e9tudes de leur enfant sont normales et de quelle fa\u00e7on ils doivent intervenir.
